Medal of Honor: Airborne Multiplayer Hands-on

There's a Medal of Honor: Allied Assault Preview on IGN offering impressions of multiplayer play in the 11th installment in the Medal of Honor series of World War II first-person shooters that is nearing completion Electronic Arts' Los Angeles studio. Here's a taster:
The matches themselves consist of deathmatch and objective modes. Matches can be played either with paradrops or with just having the Allies spawn on the ground, though that sort of defeats the fun of it all, especially since the game begins in a nifty manner for Allies as they actually file out of the plane to jump at the same time. It's a cool mechanic that ties the multiplayer experience more closely with the single player. Objectives function like a normal game of Battlefield where players need to capture a flag by standing near it. There are three flags per map, one of which requires two players of the same team to capture it. When all three flags have been captured by one side, the match ends or if time runs out, the team with the most flags wins.

Several of the multiplayer maps are actually conversions of those found in the single-player campaign like Husky and Neptune (inspired by historic campaigns in the war), but others will be a mixture of newly made maps or remakes of classics like Destroyed Village from Allied Assault. Maps are in general pretty small to accommodate smaller player numbers since games will be limited to 12 people total. Even with the smaller numbers of players we didn't have any trouble finding action or having action find us. The PC version will also ship with a dedicated server option which should allow for larger games with more people.
