Microsoft yesterday announced the release of Release Candidate  of Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 Service Pack 1 to the unforgiving public.

The firm blogged that the RC, "signals the last public beta build to be released prior to the release to Manufacturing final release."

The only new features added to the SP1 are the Windows Server 2008 R2-related virtualisation technologies, Dynamic Memory and RemoteF. More details are available on the Windows Server Division Weblog. Microsoft says these features will help customers who choose to deploy Windows through Virtual Desktop Infrastructure by "enabling a more scalable and rich user experience".

There are no additional new features specific to Windows 7.
