AMD 7850 and 7870 spec leaked
Tom's Hardware has a post about leaked info on the AMD 7870 and 7850 cards...
Highlights are: March and $300 for the 7870 and only $220 for the 7850, big price difference there. £300 becomes around £190, add VAT and we are looking at around £230, the 7850 is going to be around £170 with VAT, all things being equal. So just like the other 7xxx cards they are not going to be cheap. My guess is the prices will remain high on these cards until the stock of the older 6xxx cards drop and of course until nVidia release their 6xx cards later this year. Given that the two company's swap top dog slot with each release it dose not take a giant leap of imagination to guess that once nVidia do release the 6xx series they will return to the top position charging what they want. Again if history teaches us anything AMD will do what it dose best and cut their prices and go for the bang for you buck route that they are known for.
On a personal note I have been waiting for these cards, I'm currently running a pair of 6870's and if I'm right about the price thing I'll be looking to swap them out for a pair of 7870 in around 6 months.
