Counter Strike: Source (2-ish)
The old faithful Counter Strike has been made over again. This game is still played by more people than almost all of the other FPS games put together.
They have been working on it, manly because it's coming out on the Mac. They are introducing some of the features from Day of Defeat and a whole lot more (Achievements and global stats).
Including updates to the game engine. Still don't expect massive improvements, the visuals are still going to look dated compared to more modern games. Counter Strike has always been more about game play than eye candy. Let the other shooters blind you with snow and dust. This is partly because the other shooters are made for the console kiddy's. Scores popping up in the middle of the screen and other dumb crap. This is counter strike and they don't pander to the kids!
Still it's not perfect in my mind, a little too old school. Still there is no iron sight or lean. The taunts are repetitive, gogogo, fire in the hole! every single time someone through a nade! "Fire in the hole!" for fooks sake 20 blokes with three nades each!
Anyhow If you have Steam and Counter Strike Source it might be worth giving it a go. If you don't have CS:S then Valve are selling it real cheap at the mo.
