- Far Cry 2 Interview - C&VG has posted an interview up with the lead designer of Far Cry 2 as he talks about various things about the game such as the AI, graphics, how they started out on the PC and how games like X-Com and Bioshock influence the character relationships. Also comes the announcement that the singleplayer will be 'close to 50 hours'.
- S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky interview - Pcigre.com has posted an interview with GSC Game World's Valentine Yeltyshev. He revealed that the DX10 renderer is still in development, but they have already implemented such features as God rays, volumetric fog and smoke, dynamic wet surfaces, etc.
- Tom Clancy's EndWar Impressions and Interview - At the recent Ubisoft press event, ShackNews got a chance to try out the Ubisoft Shanghai-developed Tom Clancy's EndWar, that voice command-enabled, real-world RTS for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360: "At its core, EndWar is fairly simple. You command tanks, infantry, helicopters and artillery, all arranged in small unit groupings a la World in Conflict. You capture points. You call in reinforcements. You say things like 'task force one, attack hostile three.' You feel kind of cool, and a little ashamed at the same time. "
- The Sims 2: Free Time Patch - Electronic Arts has issued a patch for The Sims 2 Free Time, updating this expansion pack for The Sims to v1.13.0.155.
- Dark Horizon Announced - Paradox Interactive announces Dark Horizon, a space combat simulation planned for release in the third quarter of this year, encouragingly described with comparisons to Wing Commander and Freelancer. Dark Horizon is a plot-rich experience; 22 challenging missions, laced with special features such as full ship customization, original weapon creation, joystick support, and several modes of combat. The game is scheduled to ship worldwide during Q3, 2008.
- Warhammer Online Crafting Details - EA Mythic revealed new details about the Warhammer Online Crafting system, offering a link to this podcast from Mark Jacobs on the topic.
- Stronghold Crusader Extreme Ships - Indie-publisher Gamecock Media Group announced today that Firefly Studios PC game 'Stronghold Crusader Extreme' has shipped to North American retailers and is available via digital distribution.
- Register For PC Mass Effect Downloadable Content - PC Mass Effect is out, and if you want to download the free Bring Down the Sky content when it becomes available, you'll have to register for a BioWare community account.
- Namco Announces Splatterhouse for Xbox 360, PS3 - Namco Bandai today officially announced Splatterhouse, an action title based on the 1988 arcade hit. In development for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 by BottleRocket Entertainment, Splatterhouse will have players assuming the role of college student Rick Taylor.
- Saints Row 2 Pushed Back 2 Months - THQ is delaying the release of Saints Row 2 by two months due to product quality and marketing considerations. The delay to Oct. 14 from Aug. 26 means the game will be released in THQ's fiscal third quarter instead of the second quarter, but will not affect the company's financial outlook for its 2009 fiscal year.
