CoD: Black Ops II

For the first time a group of us got online together and tested it first hand. There were a couple of hiccups getting us together in a party as we learned the system. Then the first three servers it dumped us in were so laggy they are unplayable.

Then things cleared up and the servers were fine. In the end we went for Hardcore S&D and this was much more to our liking. Given the nature of S&D with no respawn the majority of the kills were down to gun play. Very little of the silly kill streak rewards. When they did happen it felt like a big deal because it wasn't happening all the time, as such we sort of knew they were well deserved.

I can happily report that a bunch of middle aged, old school gamers had a great time. With a mix of tactics, good communication and experience these old fingers and eyes were easily a match for the kiddys. Our individual scores may not have been outrageously high but our team won most times with all of us toward the top of the leader board each match. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves as such I can recommend this game, with all it's faults. The Single play is, (within the limitations of CoD) is a very good game. The MP game is a hoot as well.

I have yet to test the Zombie game, as one must look at Black Ops 2 as three self contained games in one package. When you remember that it is three games the price looks a little more interesting. Guys do not dismiss this game out of hand, it's a good solid game and highly entertaining.
