Help create Ubuntu’s new sound theme

Michael Forrest has posted details of an exciting new contest for Ubuntu users to take part in. Building upon the enormous success that the bi-annual wallpaper submission competition has garnered, attention has now turned to that oft-forgotten part of the desktop experience called ‘the sound theme’.
“As much as we love you The Old Ubuntu Startup Sound, it's time to say goodbye.”
Michael has a full brief listed on his blog which, if you’re serious, you should refer to.
A reduced number of sounds are being sought, comprising of: -
  • Desktop Ready (log-in screen)
  • Desktop Login (desktop)
  • Instant Messaging
  • Email
  • Error
The soundscape should be “subtle, restrained and professional” , have “flawless production quality” and be submitted as 44.KHz 16 bit Wav. The deadline for submission is Monday 18th October 2010.
