Broadband takes the Call Of Duty strain

The release of what is expected to be the biggest selling computer game of all time, Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare, had some the UK’s broadband providers worrying about the strain on the networks.

What made this even more worrying for the ISPs and the players too, is that if the network failed then there would be no online game play.

The game was released on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 at the same time.

At one time, the games retailer play.com was taking 150 pre-orders per minute during the busiest times.

Yet it seems the broadband network stayed intact and most of the UK’s gamers are going around with a huge smile on their faces.

Online gaming is huge, but the user requires a decent connection to fully enjoy the game without experiencing any lag.
